Grace McCarthy is a director, photographer, and storyteller trained across an unusually wide spectrum — digital and film photography, narrative directing, documentary, theater, and media production. That range isn't incidental; it's the engine behind work that feels alive in every format she touches.
A Carnegie Mellon School of Drama alumna with a directing major, Grace brings a rigorous theatrical sensibility to everything she makes — a sense of staging, of presence, of the human body in space. Her music videos for Grouplove, Alice Longyu Gao, and Oli Sykes of Bring Me the Horizon have established her as a director with genuine range: visceral but considered, poppy but never shallow.
Her documentary work runs just as deep. A recent series made in collaboration with Black Lives Matter Los Angeles has screened at three national film festivals — including the ARFF Paris Independent Film Festival — and received an award from the Independent Shorts. It's work that demands to be seen.
